The database covers 1407 dealer codes. A code here has three parts: MID is which control unit reported the fault, PID/SID is which parameter or component is at fault, FMI is what exactly is wrong with it; on the scanner it shows as MID128 PID100 FMI4. A few examples below; look up your own code in the search on the homepage: pick “Volvo (MID modules)” and the module the code came from.
| M128-P100.1 | Engine oil pressure. The oil level is low. The oil is thin, thick or dirty. The bypass valves, the oil pump or the oil pressure sensor may be faulty. |
| M128-PP270.14 | NOx sensor. Special instructions |
| M128-PS101.5 | SCR urea cooling valve. Open circuit, or low current |
| M128-PS98.1 | Charge air system pressure. The data is valid but below normal |
| M130-P33.13 | Clutch cylinder position. The position sensor is in the clutch cylinder. The position sensor is not calibrated. |
| M130-S38.5 | Low splitter range solenoid valve (LS). The valve is in the transmission control housing. An open or short circuit in the control unit. |
| M136-PS80.6 | Auxiliary valve. A short to another signal circuit, damaged wires or connector contacts, a faulty EBS unit. Clear the fault codes, check the wires for shorts to ground or to another signal circuit. As a last resort, replace the EBS unit. |
| M140-PS213.9 | Loss of data link communication with the mobile phone unit (MID231). The data link wiring is faulty, or the connector contacts are damaged. The phone unit may be faulty. |
| M144-PS1.7 | Retarder switch. The vehicle control unit receives signals from "SET+" and "SET-" at the same time. The signal wire is shorted to the supply wire, or the switch is faulty. |
| M150-PS17.4 | Level sensor, front axle load limitation. The signal voltage from the level sensor is below 0.5 V. The signal wire is shorted to ground, the supply wire is broken, the signal wire is broken, or the sensor is faulty. |
| M184-S254.12 | Control unit. The control unit is faulty. |
| M185-S254.12 | Control unit 1. Internal fault in the air dryer control unit. Try restarting MID185. Reprogram it. If the fault persists, replace the air dryer. |
| M216-PS36.4 | LCM unit supply no. 3 (the fuse is in the centre of the instrument panel under the main fuse box). The voltage at LCM supply input no. 3 is below 7 V. The fuse in the battery box or the fuse in the fuse holder under the main fuse box has blown. The wiring between the LCM unit and the batteries is broken, or the wires between the LCM unit and the batteries are shorted to ground. |
| M220-PS22.14 | Speed sensor, mismatch. The speed sensor is faulty or counterfeit. The speed sensor is not paired with the tachograph. The connector contacts of the speed sensor or the tachograph are damaged. The wires between the tachograph and the speed sensor are broken or shorted. Perform the speed sensor and tachograph pairing procedure (a special programming tool is required). |
| M223-S240.2 | Program memory. A software error. Reprogram the GECU unit. |
