Torque derate is not a fault by itself — it is a protection response: the electronics cut power because they found a problem. You need to find the code that triggered the derate.
This is not the fault, it is the reaction to it: the ECU is cutting power to protect the engine or the aftertreatment.
The limit will keep tightening until the cause is fixed. The code to chase is the one that triggered this, not this one.
That said, the manufacturer flags this code as critical — if in doubt, it is safer to stop and check on the spot.
The answer depends on the code, not the light. A yellow light is a warning; a red one means do not move. But even under a yellow light there are faults that require stopping right away — low oil pressure, overheating, lost brake pressure.
