SPN 520205 — factory code KAMAZ, MAZ, SITRAK and others

Safe to driveDrivable, but watch it yourself

SPN 520205 is a manufacturer number outside the standard J1939 table: different makes can put different things under it. Below — how it is worded by KAMAZ, MAZ, SITRAK, Volvo and YaMZ, and what the second half of the code (FMI) means.

KAMAZ

FMI 3EGR bypass valve power stage
FMI 4EGR bypass valve power stage
FMI 12EGR bypass valve power stage

MAZ

FMI 3EGR system actuator driver circuit fault - Short to battery positive. Blink code: 3-5-1. Repair: Check the EGR actuator and its wiring.
FMI 4EGR system actuator driver circuit fault - Short to ground. Blink code: 3-5-1. Repair: Check the EGR actuator and its wiring.
FMI 12EGR system actuator driver circuit fault - Open circuit. Blink code: 3-5-1. Repair: Check the EGR actuator and its wiring.

SITRAK

FMI 7Dual-mass flywheel speed protection triggered. Scan tool code: P1009. Effect: Torque may be limited.

Volvo

FMI 5LCM output current to the lamps is below 0.1 A. Open supply wire between the LCM and the lamps, open wire between the lamps and the ground point, or lamp failure.
FMI 6LCM output current to the lamps is above 1.7 A. Wire shorted to ground between the LCM and the lamps. Possibly several additional lamps are connected, or higher-wattage lamps are installed.
FMI 12LCM output current to the lamps is below 1.2 A. Open wires between the LCM and the lamps, open wire between the lamp and the ground point, or lamp failure.

YaMZ

FMI 3EGR system actuator driver circuit fault (Short to battery positive). Blink code: 3-5-1. Repair: Check the EGR actuator and its wiring.
FMI 4EGR system actuator driver circuit fault (Short to ground). Blink code: 3-5-1. Repair: Check the EGR actuator and its wiring.
FMI 12EGR system actuator driver circuit fault (Open circuit). Blink code: 3-5-1. Repair: Check the EGR actuator and its wiring.

Can I keep driving

Safe to drive. Below — how much time you have and what happens if you keep going.

What happens if you keep driving

Time you have: Drivable, but watch it yourself

This is an electrical fault: an open, a short or a bad contact in the sensor circuit. The value it measures is most likely fine.

You can drive. But until the circuit is repaired this system runs blind and cannot warn you about a real failure.
