No CAN communication with the EECU engine unit, or timeout on the engine retarder presence message. Repair: Check the continuity of the CAN bus connected to the EBS unit (X1/1, X1/3). Check that the engine control unit is connected and works correctly. Check that the engine control unit sends its signal over the CAN data bus. Check the continuity of the CAN bus wiring (X1/1, X1/2).
