DAF fault codes

The reference covers 66 codes from the factory tables of DAF — the full list by system is below, stop-now codes first.

Codes that mean stop now

lubrication — 1 codes

cooling — 1 codes

fuel — 10 codes

intake / boost — 4 codes

AdBlue / exhaust — 9 codes

power supply — 11 codes

CAN bus — 2 codes

brakes — 1 codes

other — 27 codes

How to read a code

A code has two halves. SPN is what is actually at fault — the sensor, component, or parameter. FMI is what is wrong with it — value out of range, open circuit, short circuit, invalid data. So “SPN 100” alone is not a diagnosis yet, but “100/1” already tells you oil pressure has dropped below normal.

If there are several codes at once

That is almost always how it goes: one fault drags five or six codes behind it. An empty AdBlue tank first throws a level error, then interrupted dosing, then a NOx excess and a torque derate. Fix the root cause and the rest clear on their own. Paste the whole list — we will show which code is the root cause.

DAF code examples

0-0Air Top 2000ST heater: Internal fault of the electronic unit (L058); Airtronic D2/D4S heater: Internal control unit fault (D871); Hydronic 10 heater: Internal communication fault of the control unit
14-4ABS-E2: Open circuit or too low a supply voltage on pin A08 of the ABS-E2 control unit (D403); ABS-E: Open circuit or too low a supply voltage on pin A08 of the control unit; ABS/ASR-D: Open circuit of the ABS valves (B257, B258) and/or the ASR valve (B237), or the supply voltage is too low
23801-4VIC: Dimmer control: instrument panel lighting can no longer be adjusted
260446-19ACC: CAN connection: incorrect ACC set distance request from the VIC to the ACC (ACC2)
3132-9AS Tronic: Failure of the self-learning setting mode, main range position sensor, during self-diagnosis.
4112-4AS Tronic lite: The CAN message (EEC3) from the engine management system is not received. It leads to the following symptom while driving
47-3ECAS-4: Short circuit to the supply in the remote control (D529) on pin A13 of the control unit
520242-19BBM: Incorrect transmission oil temperature warning status CAN message from the VIC-2 (PropA_VIC_to_BBM)
63-6EAS-2: Exhaust gas temperature downstream of the catalytic converter, the warm-up time has elapsed; EAS-2: Exhaust gas temperature downstream of the catalytic converter, the warm-up time has elapsed.
908-8AS Tronic lite: Incorrect or missing relative speed signal from the rear right axle sent by a CAN message.
P0571CAN communication - Brake switch (CCVS) - Signal incorrect.
P1264Cylinder 5 injector (B425) - open circuit on ECU pin A04 and / or ECU pin A03.
P2074Intake air pressure sensor F649/F802
P3808NOx after catalyst sensor (F843) - Heater element error.
P3976Diesel particulate filter (DPF) - Unable to complete the timer-based regeneration.

Know the code number? Type it into the search — or paste the whole list from the scanner and we will show which fault is the real one.
